Pulse Festival was set up in 2010 with a clear purpose in mind and that was to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Heart Unit in Southampton. We felt this could be achieved by putting on a music festival, and why not!
Two of the original festival organisers, Mark Ward (heath:ward) and Olly Maw (of the band Subgiant), both have young children with Congenital Heart Disease who have both had life saving treatment at the unit in Southampton. The festival would not happen also without the great support and work of Ian Nelson (also an organiser), his family and staff at Sunnyfields Farm, the farm is open to the public all year so do take a visit, there is always something going on down there. They have a fantastic farm shop which stocks a huge variety of local and organic food.
The festival supports Families of Oceanward, a local charity who really make a difference to the patients and relatives of children with Heart problems.
We also have to give praise and thanks to the team behind Pulse, who are a wonderful and strange bunch of dedicated lovelies who travel from many parts of the country to put together this fantastical day, it is to them we are eternally grateful.
